BBC reporter Holly Jones was at the bridge when the van came through and reported the van veered off the road and into crowds of people.
"We were in an Uber (taxi) going towards London Bridge and suddenly we saw people running".
One witness heard them yelling Allah as they hunted down their victims. The Uber driver said something bad is happening here.
"They kept coming to try to stab me. they were stabbing everyone". Police officers yelled at people to run from the area. It sickened me to the pit of my stomach.
Gunfire broke out after armed cops swarmed the swath of bars and restaurants, but there was no official word on the fate of the assailants. Police and the BBC report that two people entered a restaurant at the market, one of the oldest in the United Kingdom, and stabbed at least two people.
An image shared by a photographer on social media showed a man on the ground with what appeared to be grey canisters around his waist by the Wheatsheaf pub in Borough.
Other eyewitnesses said three men came out of the van and started stabbing people at random with 12-inch knives close to the bridge, an area popular with tourists and citydwellers alike.
Six people have died and many more injured in terror attacks using a van and knives on Saturday night.
One witness inside the station described the scene to Sky News.

A third incident is taking place at Vauxhall, Scotland Yard said.
"People were yelling, 'Everybody run, a terrorist, terrorist, run, run run".
He said the seriousness of the injuries is not yet known. A witness told the BBC a van veered off the road and hit several people...
"It looked like he was aiming for groups of people".
He added: "I've been in situations like this before, I don't think you realise how scary how possibly be until you put yourself into it, a police man could have shot me because it was me, the police and these three men so I was lucky definitely".
Shortly after Trump tweeted, British Prime Minister Theresa May said the incident was being treated as a "potential act of terrorism" and London police later tweeted that they were "declared as terrorist incidents". "GOD BLESS!" Trump tweeted.
Police are treating injured people and carrying them away at the end Thrale Street.
"We need to be smart, vigilant and tough", it read. "We were eventually led out of the bar and some kind people working in a hotel let us come in to use the bathroom and to give us water". He also advocated his Travel Ban saying that this would be an extra level of safety for everyone.
Back in March, a single, lone-wolf attacker plowed through scores of pedestrians on Westminster Bridge in a rented vehicle, before being killed by authorities.
