In total 14 people have been arrested in connection with the investigation into Monday's attack at the Manchester Arena - and 12 men remain in custody for questioning.
Along with the 11 suspects in United Kingdom custody, police in Libya have detained Abedi's father and brother.
The development came as a vast security operation gets under way to protect hundreds of Spring Bank Holiday events across Britain this weekend.

A 25-year-old man has been arrested in Old Trafford on suspicion of terror offences, Greater Manchester Police has said. Police are trying to identify who put together the bomb that was used in the attack. Among them is a third brother, 23-year-old Ismail Abedi. Witnesses reported seeing armed police storm a bus on its way to the town centre at around 7pm.
Since the attack, armed police backed up by the army have been patrolling cities and trains.
