Consider gifting your mother a nice umbrella this weekend, because weather forecasts for Mother's Day are looking awful.
The National Weather Service posted a "preliminary" rainfall map Friday afternoon, which has nearly all of eastern MA looking at 2-plus inches.
The rain will become heavier and steadier Saturday night as the wind off of the water ramps up. We'll continue fine-tuning and tweaking the 7-day forecast as newer computer models come in over the next several days.
After a week with clouds, but no rain, the clouds will continue this weekend, but this time rain will follow. A few showers or storms could show up by Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. I'm still thinking a widespread 1 to 2 inches of rain is likely across New Jersey, with locally higher amounts where it really pours. Overnight lows this weekend will range from the upper 50s to the low 60s.
As high pressure builds in, we'll see partly cloudy skies on Mother's Day.
Sunny breaks to clouds, with pop-up showers
Highs in the mid-60s are forecast for Thursday and Friday, but temperatures are expected to rise to the low 70s Saturday through Tuesday. Tomorrow will be a couple of degrees cooler as a weak back door cold front sneaks in from New England underneath the upper level systems.
Tonight: Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Rain (70%). Sunday will be sunny with highs in the lower 80s.
Sunday night: A 30 percent chance of showers.
It will be sunny on Saturday with a high of 81 degrees and mostly sunny on Sunday with a high of around 77 degrees, the NWS says.
Things We Learned From WWE SmackDown In The UK (May 9)
Since this will be just a few days before Backlash , perhaps we could see the former United States Champion on the upcoming show. Finally, The Usos and Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) will go head-to-head for the SmackDown tag team championship.
