Ivanka Trump's new office was located on the second floor of the West Wing next to Dina Powell, who was recently promoted to the National Security Councill after having been an adviser to the first daughter. She was said to be in the process of receiving security clearance and a government-issued communication device.
Ms Trump's attorney, Jamie Gorelick, said she will voluntarily adhere to the rules that would apply if she were a government employee, even though she is not.
Ivanka and her husband joined Donald Trump to meet with Boeing's CEO and workers at the SC factory of the airline manufacturer, in what was Trump's first official presidential visit outside of Washington, D.C. Ivanka could very easily just decide one day to ignore those guidelines and it wouldn't matter because she's technically not part of the administration. She has also reportedly weighed in on policy issues and established a low-key presence in the White House.

With the Trump Organization, Ivanka Trump has stepped down from a leadership role and will receive fixed payments rather than a share of the profits.
It's yet more uncharted ethical ground for an administration already wracked with conflicts-of-interest concerns. Why not at least give her the gloss of legitimacy, and make the role official?
The motive behind the move is yet to be addressed, as Ms Trump still owns her Ivanka Trump fashion brand and will publish a book, Women Who Work, later this year.
She had sat at the Oval Office desk and controversially posed for a picture with her father and Trudeau by her side.
